King Charles Leads Royal Family Balcony Appearance at Trooping the Colour

The 77-year-old monarch joined senior members of the royal family to acknowledge thousands of people gathered along The Mall following the annual military parade held in honour of his official birthday.

Standing before cheering crowds, the King waved as members of the royal family watched the traditional Royal Air Force flypast overhead.

The display reached its peak when the famous Red Arrows swept across the sky, leaving trails of red, white and blue behind them.

Once the aerial tribute ended, the royals stood for the national anthem before the King offered a final wave and returned inside Buckingham Palace.

Joining him on the balcony were Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Also present were Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward and Sophie, along with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

This year's event marked the fourth Trooping the Colour celebration held during King Charles' reign.

Despite his actual birthday falling on November 14, the public celebration of the monarch's birthday continues to take place in June, following a tradition maintained during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The occasion comes during a period that has seen the royal family navigate both public scrutiny and family milestones.

Just days earlier, the King attended the wedding of his nephew, Peter Phillips, while also continuing official engagements, including a recent visit to the United States.

Trooping the Colour remains one of the most significant events on the royal calendar, bringing together members of the monarchy, the armed forces and the public for a display of ceremony, tradition and national celebration.
