 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium. Expressing immense pride in her accomplishment, noting that she inspires not only her peers but also the Lagos State government, which continually emphasises youth education and sports development. “The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, through the Lagos State Sports Commission, is thrilled with your sterling performance,” Fatodu stated. “The government will continue to support outstanding athletes like you, especially in their education.
