The leadership of the Nnewi Indigenous New Motor Spare Parts Association paid a courtesy visit to the President General of Nzukọ Ọra Nnewi Town Union, Hon. Prince Jude Osumuoh FCAI, JP, on 20th July.
The delegation, led by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Kenechukwu Okeke, said the visit was to commend the President General for his contributions to the Nnewi Ancient Kingdom and to formally introduce the newly constituted leadership of the association.
Mr. Okeke stated that the association was established to assist government efforts in restoring the lost glory of the Nnewi New Motor Spare Parts Market. He disclosed that a committee had been set up to oversee the welfare of every Nnewi indigenous apprentice in the market.
He further declared that no indigene of Nnewi should be denied proper settlement by his master after years of service, and that the association would fund the settlement of any indigenous apprentice who falls victim to such treatment.
In his response, Hon. Osumuoh thanked the delegation for the visit. He assured them that his administration remains committed to making Nnewi a place of equity, peace and justice, where businesses are given the necessary support and resources to thrive.
He also pledged his continued support to the association in its efforts to protect and uplift Nnewi indigenes in the spare parts sector.
“Together, Let’s Make Nnewi Great Again,” the President General said.
