One thing I’ve noticed since I came to Nigeria… some of the people we call “rich” in Cameroon might actually be considered poor here in Nigeria. πŸ˜‚πŸ‡¨πŸ‡²πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ You will hear some Cameroonians say: Life in Cameroon is better because the gap between the rich and poor is not too much. An average man lives better than an average man in Nigeria  But I think the problem is that we sometimes measure wealth differently. πŸ˜‚ Those rich people in Cameroon are more like the average man in Nigeria  In Nigeria, you can see somebody with a house, two cars and serious money, yet the person will still say: Me? I’m just managing. πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Meanwhile, that same person might be considered very rich in Cameroon.  U.S. Consulate Fired Upon for 2nd Time This Year; Police Seek Suspect Vehicle

Toronto police are investigating after the U.S. Consulate in downtown Toronto was targeted by gunfire for the second time this year early Monday morning.

Police say an officer on routine patrol near the consulate heard gunshots at approximately 4:45 a.m. and immediately spotted a white Honda Accord with no licence plates speeding away from the scene.

Officers briefly pursued the vehicle, but the chase was called off on the Don Valley Parkway near Don Mills Road after the suspect vehicle reached speeds exceeding 140 km/h, raising public safety concerns. Police said aerial support was unavailable at the time.

Investigators have not determined how many people were inside the vehicle, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown. No injuries were reported.

Deputy Chief Frank Barredo described the incident as a “brazen” and “despicable” act, adding that investigators will treat the case with the utmost seriousness.

The latest shooting comes just four months after the U.S. Consulate was targeted on March 10 in what police previously described as a gun-for-hire plot. Authorities are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact Toronto police as the investigation continues.
