 NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE EXTENDS UK PASSPORT INTERVENTION TO OCTOBER 3 The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in London and Manchester to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout by applicants. In a statement, the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, indicates that the exercise is progressing smoothly at the two centres despite initial challenges, with 1,477 Nigerians processed and enrolled within the first four days. More than half have already had their passports produced and dispatched. The Service reiterates that passport applications and payments are fully automated and cashless.  It adds, the extension, approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, runs from September 19 to October 3 and is intended to accommodate the increasing demand.

 Zimbabwe to Stop Exporting Raw Minerals, President Says


“Under my leadership and administration, [...] narrative is changing. I urge stakeholders and partners to decisively and boldly transition to this new reality," Emmerson Mnangagwa was quoted by state news outlet as saying.


Starting in January 2027, Zimbabwe will export only lithium sulphate, he noted, Sputnik reported.


“The world economic dynamics are changing fast, and all sectors of the economy must constantly evolve in our national interest,” the president emphasized.
