 U.S commends NDLEA over busts of Mexican meth labs as Marwa seeks continued support.   The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) for Africa and the Middle East, Michael Gonzales has commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for its operational successes, describing Nigeria as the clear answer for the first country to visit after his appointment. Gonzales made the remark on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, during a visit to the NDLEA national headquarters in Abuja, where he was received by the Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), and members of the agency's management team. HE SIMPLY WAS TRYING TO GET HOME AFTER A DAY IN THE CITY WHEN HIS LIFE WAS ROBBED FROM HIM IN A MOST UNPREDICTABLE WAY.. (PHOTO).

 He simply was trying to get home after a day in the city when his life was robbed from him in a most unpredictable way.


A man in his 50s was doing what many of us do; enduring the grind of daily commuting and looking forward to being off work. Sadly, this is when he made his final stop ever. 


It was approximately 5:50 p.m. on September 28th, when the shocking events unfolded at the Utica Avenue Station, in Bedford-Stuyevesant.


According to authorities, the unfortunate gentleman's bag became stuck when the train's doors closed on it. Events began to move very quickly to a tragic ending at this point. 


The man only had time to register what was happening as the train began to pull away, picking up speed as it departed the station.


Unfortunately, the man was trapped by his bag and was dragged along the station's platform. The journey soon came to an abrupt end when the train passed by a large pole, and the man was slammed into it with such force that he was freed from his predicament. 


The fact that he was free from the train didn't matter as the massive trauma he suffered from the impact, unfortunately, proved to be fatal.


First responders were on scene in mere minutes but he was pronounced deceased on the scene.


The victim's identify is not being released at this time and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has launched an investigation into how exactly this could have happened.
