A 10 day free specialised medical outreach sponsored by Sen. Stella Oduah for residents of Ogbaru and Onitsha South Local Government Areas (LGAs) has commenced at two hospitals in Anambra.

The outreach, which runs from Oct. 15 to Oct. 24, is being held at Solution General Hospital, Okpoko, in Ogbaru LGA, and Fegge General Hospital, Onitsha South LGA.

The programme provides free medical consultations, screenings, treatment and specialised surgical services to improve residents’ access to healthcare.

Speaking at Solution General Hospital, Okpoko, the Medical Director, Dr. Gerald Anusiobi, said the hospital and its staff were prepared to attend to residents seeking medical care.

Anusiobi commended the Stella Oduah Foundation for the intervention, adding that screenings, examinations and other preparations were underway to facilitate the delivery of services.

He said information about the outreach had been disseminated to residents through various channels.

A nurse at the hospital, Precious Nwagbo, said arrangements had been made to ensure that beneficiaries received the services free of charge.

She urged residents to take advantage of the programme.

The hospital’s Administrative Officer, Mrs. Nkechi Ibezim, described the outreach as an opportunity for residents to access specialised medical care.

Ibezim said some residents who arrived at the hospital on the first day of which residents turned out well had undergone examinations and were awaiting further procedures urged residents to take advantage.

Oduah, who represents Anambra North Senatorial District, is seeking re election to the Senate in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
