 Women in Gaza are being traded for food, forced to marry their rapists-UN Women in Gaza are being traded for food and forced into marriages with their rapists, according to a pair of reports from the United Nations — underscoring the critical importance of President Trump’s Board of Peace in the war-torn enclave. There was a 123% increase in the number of early and forced marriage incidents across Gaza in the first quarter of 2026, with women between the ages of 18-59 suffering 68% of all gender-based violence (GBV) in the Palestinian enclave, the United Nations’ Population Fund (UNFPA) found. Researchers spoke to women who said young girls were married off to rapists, traded for food or given up by guardians who did not want to take care of them amid the humanitarian crisis caused by the Israel-Hamas war. “The second highest form of GBV reported was psychological and emotional violence, followed by physical violence, sexual violence, and forced and early marriage,” the researcher...

  After first visiting Coventry Cathedral to mark the 59th anniversary of its Consecration year, Their Royal Highnesses toured the 2 Tone music exhibition at the Herbert Gallery and heard more about how the genre has roots in the city. As founder of The British Asian Trust, The Prince met members of the Indian community who have been fundraising to help those in India affected by Covid-19, and toured the old Daimler Powerhouse, which has been converted into a hub for artists. Finally, The Prince met representatives from the Canal River Trust and heard about the work being done to transform the canal into a community space where local people can spend time being next to the water and close to nature. The Duchess of Cornwall meanwhile met members of the local community who make use of the activities on offer at Coventry Library, and visited a women’s refuge centre. GOV. ZULUM DEMANDS SANCTION AS COMMITTEE FINDS 21 HEALTH WITH FAKE CERTIFICATES,91 GHOST STAFF.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE

  Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has directed disciplinary measures to be taken, after a verification committee identified 21 health workers, amongst them some nurses, operating with fake certificates. The committee had also found 91 ghost workers in different health institutions across the state. Chairman of the committee, Dr. Joseph Jatau revealed this on Monday in Maiduguri, while presenting the committee’s report to Governor Zulum at the governor’s office annex located in Musa Usman (workers) secretariat. Dr Jatau explained that among those with fake certificates were some nurses, and other medical and support staff. The chairman also disclosed that 91 ghost workers were faked from the lists of some health workers in the state, who had either resigned or withdrawn from service, while salaries were being paid in their names. Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Lagos Ogun Joint Development Commission. The signing of the MoU which took place at the Marquee of the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta, was witnessed by top government functionaries from the two states, traditional rulers, federal and state lawmakers, and captains of industry. Speaking at the event, Governor Abiodun said that the official launch of the Joint Development Commission will further initiate and accelerate more projects necessary to aid ease of doing business, movement of people, goods and services, as well as increase industrialization along all the border communities and ensure a wholesome development of the two states.
