BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED OVER FARMER-HERDER CLASH IN NINGI LGA THAT CLAIMED ONE LIFE Following the unfortunate farmer-herder clash at Guda Village in Ningi Local Government Area, the Command wishes to inform the public that four suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident. On 23rd September, 2026 at about 0740hrs, three farmers from Guda Village went to their farms on Guda Hill and found cattle belonging to a herder grazing on and destroying their crops. They chased the cattle to the herders' settlement where an argument ensued and degenerated into a fight. In the process, the three farmers sustained injuries. Sadly, in retaliation, some youths from Guda Village mobilized and set ablaze houses at the herders settlement. Operatives from Ningi Division responded promptly, restored normalcy and evacuated the injured to General Hospital Ningi. 5 Drown In Kano Boat Mishap  Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of five people, in a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of the state. The  Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, explained that, the boat conveying  11 people capsized leading to the death of five while  6 people  were rescued alive. He highlighted that, the agency received a distress call from one Umar Faruk-Dalada, at about 05:40 pm "There are 11 persons on the boat, but six were rescued alive, while five were rescued in an unconscious state" Saminu maintained that, the deceased who are indegenea of Fagge local government area include  Abdulrazak Navara, Dalha Muktar Atamma, Mustapha Ibrahim, Umar Isah and Umar Idris.  The public relations officer pointed out that, investigations into the boat mishap had commenced, and charged the public to maintain safety at all times. The veteran Hollywood star made the announcement using a 13-minute video clip that was recently shared on Facebook. According to the video, he was diagnosed while he was recovering from knee replacement surgery, due to problems with his prostate. The problem ended with frequent urination every half hour or so. In an effort to course correct, he underwent another procedure that made the problem “so bad I couldn’t pee.” “And that my friend is one of the most painful experiences I can tell you.” It was only with a biopsy that Braden was able to get answers, and he found that “there were low-grade cancer cells. World Book/Copyright Day: NCC Intensifies Antipiracy Drive Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) says it is intensifying antipiracy drive and enforcing stiffer penalties for copyrights infringement and abuse of all literary works in the country. Dr John Asein, the Director-General, NCC, made this known in a statement in Abuja in commemoration of the World Book and Copyright Day, celebrated every April 23. NGF Holds Valedictory Meeting As 17 Members Depart The Nigeria Governors’ Forum NGF will be holding its 2023 valedictory meeting Wednesday 26th of April 2023. According to an invitation to all the 36 Governors, issued by the Director-General of the Forum Mr Asishana Okauru, the meeting will be the 5th physical meeting in 2023, as the four earlier meetings during the year had been virtual. It further states that after the Chairman’s brief and parting remarks, the floor would be open for valedictories from members.   Seventeen Governors are leaving the Forum, having completed their terms of office, while adequate arrangements have been put in place for the induction of new Governors and returning ones which is coming up between 14th and 17 of next month.  The meeting will also end the Leadership of Governors’ Fayemi/Tambuwal in the Forum as another Chairman is expected to emerge among Governors of majority party.
