  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. 5 Drown In Kano Boat Mishap 

Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of five people, in a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of the state.

The  Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, explained that, the boat conveying  11 people capsized leading to the death of five while  6 people  were rescued alive.

He highlighted that, the agency received a distress call from one Umar Faruk-Dalada, at about 05:40 pm

"There are 11 persons on the boat, but six were rescued alive, while five were rescued in an unconscious state"

Saminu maintained that, the deceased who are indegenea of Fagge local government area include  Abdulrazak Navara, Dalha Muktar Atamma, Mustapha Ibrahim, Umar Isah and Umar Idris. 

The public relations officer pointed out that, investigations into the boat mishap had commenced, and charged the public to maintain safety at all times.
