Alleged Graft: ICPC Confirms Nasir El-rufai’s Arrest After His Release From EFCC Custody PRESS RELEASE  The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) writes to state  that Malam Nasiru El-Rufai the former Governor of Kaduna state is in our custody as at close of work, Wednesday the 18th day of February, 2026.   Malam Nasiru El-Rufai is in the  custody of the Commission in connection with investigations.  J. 5 Drown In Kano Boat Mishap 

Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the death of five people, in a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of the state.

The  Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, explained that, the boat conveying  11 people capsized leading to the death of five while  6 people  were rescued alive.

He highlighted that, the agency received a distress call from one Umar Faruk-Dalada, at about 05:40 pm

"There are 11 persons on the boat, but six were rescued alive, while five were rescued in an unconscious state"

Saminu maintained that, the deceased who are indegenea of Fagge local government area include  Abdulrazak Navara, Dalha Muktar Atamma, Mustapha Ibrahim, Umar Isah and Umar Idris. 

The public relations officer pointed out that, investigations into the boat mishap had commenced, and charged the public to maintain safety at all times.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
