 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.  Dangote to Commission Multi-Billion Refineries May 22 May 7, 2023 Dangote Group has announced the date for the launch of its much-awaited refineries. A letter of invitation circulating on social media indicated that the commissioning of the multi-billion dollar refinery would take place on May 22, 2023. The Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company is expected to bring solutions to Nigeria’s perennial refining issues.

Institute to offer scholarships to Nigerian students from war-torn Sudan 7 May 2023  The Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioners United Kingdom (CIEPUK) has promised to offer 50 per cent scholarships to Nigerian students who just arrived from war-torn Sudan at Paul University, Awka, Anambra State. On Wednesday, the first batch of 376 Nigerian students trapped in Sudan arrived at the Pilgrims Terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja. The students arrived through an Air Peace Plane and the Nigerian Air Force Jet NAF C-130. 80,000 Sit For Rescheduled JAMB Exam  Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the rescheduled 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Adamu, who alongside Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, monitored the examination at the Computer Based Test (CBT) centre located in Mambila Barrack’s, Asokoro, Abuja, expressed delight over the smooth conduct of the exercise. “I am very happy with what I have seen. The (temporary) holding room (for candidates), and the arrangement in where they are taking the examination, I think everything is in order. While stating that no negative incident was recorded in the conduct of the UTME at the CBT centre, the Minister, however, made a case for a temporary holding place for candidates waiting for the scheduled time of the exam.
