Rev. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, was represented at the event by Ven. Frank Obi. The African stars nominated for Brits Awards 2024 The Brit Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the O2 Arena in London. Every year sees African music stars further secure their place in the global music space with chart-topping singles that never fails to grab global attention. After grabbing multiple nominations at the 2024 Grammys, African stars have also secured spots in the 2024 Brit Awards nominations list. Burna Boy, Rema, Libianca, Asake, and Tyla have been nominated in different categories for the 2024 Brit Awards. Nigerian artists Burna Boy and Asake were nominated in the Best International Artist category alongside American superstars Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Sza, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lana Del Rey.

Kenya is Uganda's leading export market: Museveni Kenya was Uganda's most lucrative export market in the last financial year, President Yoweri Museveni has said. Kenya is Uganda's leading export market, data released by President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday revealed. In the financial year up to October 2023, the East African Community (EAC) accounted for 43.5% of Uganda's export market. Exports to Kenya from Uganda were 31.5% of the total goods Uganda sold to the EAC. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) followed at 24.6% and South Sudan 23.3%. Museveni, in a televised address in the capital Kampala, said Uganda traded at a surplus of $716 million with the EAC countries, meaning Uganda exported more to EAC member states than it imported from the bloc. $6.5 billion worth of total exports Museveni, however, noted that his country's exports to Kenya and Tanzania were less in value than the commodities Uganda imported from the two neighouring nations respectively. Lagos has been ranked as the 19th Best City to visit in the World by a British Media and Hospitality Company, Time Out, ahead of Melbourne, Naples, Singapore, Miami, Dubai, Beijing, and Montreal, among others. Time Out said the rankings published on its website were drawn from a survey of more than 20,000 city dwellers around the world, as well as from its network of editors. The Company ranked New York City as the number one city in the world while South Africa’s Cape Town was ranked second in the list that contained 50 cities. The criteria used to rate the cities include food (quality and affordability), culture, nightlife, how the city makes people feel, strong community vibes, access to green space, historic sites, and much more. The British Media and Hospitality outfit emphasised that the list reflects cities that are great places to visit and also to live while encouraging global citizens to visit them. 24-YEAR-OLD LADY STABBED TO DEATH BY HER BOYFRIEND AFTER MISUNDERSTANDING.(PHOTO).

This is Grace Wangari Thuiya. Grace was 24  years old and a mother to a 3 year old.  On the night of 20th January this year,the police on foot patrol heard screaming around the Uncle Sam area of  Githurai 44, 44,they immediately responded. They found  that after a misunderstanding, the couple who lived together had had a misunderstanding and Clinton Mwangi the boyfriend, was assaulting Grace and had stabbed her numerous times. The police rushed her to Imani Hospital where she was.referred to Kiambu Level 5 in a critical condition. Grace unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on arrival at the hospital. The murder suspect was arrested and arraigned in court. They both leave behind their daughter Maya. Her friends remember her as a bubbly hardworking girl. Borno To Host 10th Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture  Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governors of the nineteen northern states and intellectuals from the region would converge on Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Saturday for the 2024 sir Ahmodu Bello memorial lecture.  The lecture which is tenth in the series, has as its theme; creating pathway for peace, tackling banditry and insurgency through good governance for sustainable development.  At a media briefing in Maiduguri, chairman organising committee, who is also the state Head of Service, Malam Fannami said annual lecture seek to promote intellectual discourse, reflect on critical issues with a view to addressing contemporary challenges facing the region and the nation at large.  ‘Buga’ Africa’s anthem – Kizz Daniel disagrees with Shettima Famous singer, Kizz Daniel, has said contrary to Vice President Kashim Shettima’s claim that his hit song, ‘Buga,’ is almost becoming Nigeria’s second national anthem, the song is “actually” the African continent’s anthem. Shettima, while harping on the exploits on Nigerian art and culture on the global scene, claimed in a recent interview that Kizz Daniel and Tekno’s ‘Buga’ is almost becoming the country’s second national anthem. Reacting to a viral clip of the interview on X, Kizz Daniel appreciated Shettima for his comment but added that the song is the continent’s anthem, not just Nigeria. He wrote, “Actually, it is the continent’s anthem. Thank you, Vice President Kashim Shettima.”

I’m not a gospel artiste – Timi Dakolo clarifies Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo, has clarified that he is not a gospel artist. He pointed out that his style of music is diverse, emphasising that he cannot be boxed into a particular genre. The ‘Iyawo mi’ crooner spoke in a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria, Lagos, hosted by OAP Dotun. The host asked, “People kind of categorise you into gospel. Are you a gospel musician?” Dakolo replied, “I am not, by any chance. I always say to people, ‘Is there a gospel banker or architect?’ It is you that decided that is what you want to do. Art is art. “I am just an artist. In fact, I am not an artist; I am a creator of art. You can box my music into a particular genre. I am much more than a wedding singer. ‘Great Nation’ and ‘Wish Me Well’ are not wedding songs.
