 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. Rev. Chidiebere Amakaeze, the landlord of the property being used for popular Cubana Lounge in the Wuse area of Abuja claimed that Obi Cubana, the proprietor of Cubana Group has not paid rent from 2019 till date. The quit notice issued by solicitors to Rev. Amakaeze, cited by PM NEWS was signed by Prince Ben S. Ikani Esq and E. I. Nwafor Esq of Citadel of Justice of Law Firm, Abuja.  5,000 repentant Boko Haram fighters reunited with families –FG The National Counter Terrorism Centre, Office of the National Security Advisor, says at least 5,000 repented Boko Haram fighters have been reunited with their families. It says none of the ex-combatants returned to the battle ground after six months of the deradicalisation programme. Amb. Mairo Musa Abbas, Head of Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), stated this at the second-day session of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum. Mairo, who spoke at the Third Penal with the theme, “Managing Boko Haram Exits and Demobilization of Armed Groups,” said harmonised strategy would help the governors of Lake Chad region to address their common issues.
