 IGP DISU APPROVES POSTING OF NEW POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS TO COMMANDS, FORMATIONS The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has approved the posting of new Police Public Relations Officers and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected Commands and Formations of the Nigeria Police Force, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic communication, improve public access to credible Police information and enhance engagement with the media and other stakeholders.  Court Jails Man for N35m Fraud in Abuja Justice S. M. Mayana of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, sitting in Apo, Abuja, on Monday, May 5, 2025, convicted and sentenced one Daniel Ameh to imprisonment for fraud. The convict was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , EFCC on a one-count charge, bordering on criminal misappropriation to the tune of N35million (Thirty-five Million Naira), which ran contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code and punishable under the same section and to which he pleaded “not guilty.” In the course of his trial, prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Buba called three witnesses and tendered relevant documents. Justice Mayana convicted and sentenced Ameh to two years imprisonment or to pay N1million (One Million Naira) fine. In addition to his jail term, he was ordered to pay the sum of N22 million (Twenty-two Million Naira), in restitution to his victim, one Inalegu Egwa.  A 21 YEAR OLD WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER STEALING A TWO WEEKS BABY IN KWAZULU NATAL The child named Owami Sindani was stolen yesterday in Cato Manor Kwazulu natal by this woman. The woman had met with Owami’s mom at a local clinic and became friends with her on the 24th of April 2025. Then yesterday she visited Bongiwe who is Owami’s mom at her home. The lady then snatched the baby and Bongiwe’s phone and disappeared around 15:h00. Members of a security company called Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) then started circulating the photos of the child asking for tip offs. Then this morning around 09:15 the baby Owami was found safe in the vicinity of Pavilion Shopping Centre after a tip off.  According to information as per tip off the girl was planning to flee KZN with the child and the security company dispatched a helicopter to seal all entries and exits in the mall area.  Pastor Arrested for Faking Hijacking Incident in Limpopo A 68-year-old pastor is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on 5 May 2025 after allegedly faking a hijacking incident. According to police reports, the man went to the Westenburg police station on 2 May 2025 and opened a case, claiming he was hijacked along the R37 road. However, during the investigation, he later admitted that the incident never occurred. The pastor has been charged with perjury for making a false statement under oath. Police have confirmed that investigations are continuing.

 Young Woman Fatally Stabbed by Ex-Boyfriend at Protea Glen Mall A 23-year-old woman, Snenhlanhla Mathosi, was tragically stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend at her workplace in Protea Glen Mall, Soweto, on 4 May 2025. She worked at Pick n Pay. The suspect was quickly arrested at the scene. The incident has sparked outrage across the country, with many calling for justice on social media. Public Safety MMC Mgcini Tshwaku visited the mall and local police station following the attack. There are unconfirmed reports that the knife used may have been bought nearby.

This year, the event celebrates with “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, the sample that can be visited from May 10 to October 26, 2025. The new exhibit highlights the importance of clothing and style in shaping Black identities in the Atlantic Diaspora, and will be organized by the 12 characteristics of dandism black.  More photos below.
