 Rivers PDP Caucus Endorses Tinubu for 2027 Re-election Members of the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the National Assembly have announced their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. The declaration was made in a joint statement signed by the caucus and read to journalists by Senator Barry Mpigi in Port Harcourt on Saturday. The caucus, which includes two Senators—Barry Mpigi and Allwell Onyesoh—and seven House of Representatives members—Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, Solomon Bob, Felix Nwaeke, Kelechi Nwogu, Cyril Hart, Victor Obuzor, and Blessing Amadi—cited the tangible successes of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda as the basis for their endorsement.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
