  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. IMO STATE GOVERNMENT REVOKES LICENCES OF MOTHERLESS BABIES HOME + BABY FACTORIES.

Some of the pregnant teens rescued during one of the raids.           The Imo state Government yesterday revoked the certificates of all motherless babies and foster homes in the state.The Commissioner for women Affairs and social Development,mrs Nma Onyechere,who announced this yesterday in Owerri,said that buying and selling of human beings were not part of Igbo culture,adding that the heat generated over the issue was enough to get government react to the ugly situation.she also said any staff found to be operating any such establishment or in the habit of aiding or abeting baby factories would be summarily dismissed from service.in line with the current revocation of the certificates,government has planned fresh re-registration and re-certification of all such homes.Anybody or group of persons found to have defied this policy will be arrested and prosecuted.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
