 FIRST IMPORTED EBOLA CASE: NIGERIA EVACUATES INDEX CASE TO SWITZERLAND AS CONTAINMENT MEASURES CONTINUE The Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola index case has been medically evacuated from Abuja to Switzerland, following approval by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. The forty-two-year-old patient, whose case marked Nigeria’s first imported Ebola virus disease case, was transferred alongside her spouse, who has remained asymptomatic. In a statement posted on his X handle, Professor Pate said the patient was clinically much improved, stable, conscious and able to communicate, with laboratory test results approaching baseline levels. However, the Minister cautioned that the patient’s clinical improvement does not necessarily mean she is no longer infectious, stressing that strict public health protocols remain in place. 18 YEARS LANRE OTUNOLA ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY.

3-person robbery accused            Lanre Otunola has been arrested for joining two other suspected robbers who specialized in snatching vehicles at gun point.The suspect who was paraded alongside his gang at the Lagos state police command Ikeja on tuesday confessed that he joined the gang to raise money for the christmas celebration.Others paraded along with him were,Jamiu Agboola,20 years and Toibu Oyeyinka,24 years old.The police claimed the trio snatched two sport utility vehicle at gun point,barely 23 hours after their operation following a tip off from members of the public to the police and the police subsequently laid ambush for them at the spot where they were parked the vehicles at market street,oyingbonarea of lagos looking for buyers.What was recovered from them are,one Honda Acura MDX JEEP,one Toyota High Lander JEEP,two locally made pistols and four live cartridges.The two cars were stolen from Opera street,Coker Aguda Surulere lagos on 14th December,2013.
