 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. 400 NURSES SACKED IN ZAMFARA STATE TODSAY.

                                    400 nurses and mid wives,who went on strike over pay,were sacked,accusing them of leaving their duty posts without permission.the commissioner for information,Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin Magaji announced the decision in a statement on wednesday in Gusau.the health workers had been on an indefinite strike since last week  wednesday,over non implementation of the new salary effective from December 1.he said the decision to terminate the appointments is in line with civil service rules.the Commissioner explained that the termination order did not affect those who were on leave .the state chairman of Association of Nurses and Mid wives,Bashir Mafara described the state governments pronouncement as an empty threat.he said the workers would continue with the strike and take measures to protect their rights.the state civil service commission had a week ago commenced the recruitment of new nurses and midwives into the state service.
