Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said. Atiku, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, said Nigerians were entitled to demand answers from the APC-led government over rising living costs, poverty, insecurity and questions surrounding public expenditure. 836,OVER 35YEARS SERVING TEACHERS SACKED IN EDO STATE.

          The state's commissioner for basic education Mr Patrick Aguinede,confirmed that the Edo state government today monday,sacked 836 teachers following a verification carried out by the department of information and communication technology.It was discovered that some of the affected teachers had stayed above 35 years,which made it impossible for the state government  to recruit new teachers .Mr Patrick said ''some of the affected teachers were found to have stayed above 35 years,some were physically blind,some manipulated their results and age,which later showed that they finished school before they were born''.The affected teachers learnt of the sack when their names were missing from the December salary voucher.Mr Akin Adeojo,the secretary of the Nigerian union of teachers {NUT},Edo state chapter,confirmed that the union was aware of the sack.He said ''the affected teachers had not been issued with a sack letters.and some of the teachers stayed above 35 years in service while others were physically and mentally challenged,the letter would be scrutinised before taking a decision,to prevent anybody from being victimised.
