 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026. 836,OVER 35YEARS SERVING TEACHERS SACKED IN EDO STATE.

          The state's commissioner for basic education Mr Patrick Aguinede,confirmed that the Edo state government today monday,sacked 836 teachers following a verification carried out by the department of information and communication technology.It was discovered that some of the affected teachers had stayed above 35 years,which made it impossible for the state government  to recruit new teachers .Mr Patrick said ''some of the affected teachers were found to have stayed above 35 years,some were physically blind,some manipulated their results and age,which later showed that they finished school before they were born''.The affected teachers learnt of the sack when their names were missing from the December salary voucher.Mr Akin Adeojo,the secretary of the Nigerian union of teachers {NUT},Edo state chapter,confirmed that the union was aware of the sack.He said ''the affected teachers had not been issued with a sack letters.and some of the teachers stayed above 35 years in service while others were physically and mentally challenged,the letter would be scrutinised before taking a decision,to prevent anybody from being victimised.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
