ALIA BLASTS MBALOM KILLINGS, ASSURES JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has condemned the latest attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, while assuring residents of intensified efforts to protect lives and property. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor reacted to reports of an assault by suspected armed herdsmen on the community, an incident that adds to recurring security concerns in parts of the state. Alia said the attack represents a direct threat to the peace and security of Benue, noting a disturbing pattern of what he described as calculated and selective assaults. The police in Lagos have declared a hotel manager ,Imole Abiodun,wanted for his alleged involvement in the stealing and selling of a 2 years old baby in Ikotun area of Lagos state.Abiodun the manager of Francis Inn Hotel located at Olu Odunisi street,off Abiola Adeyemi street,Ikotun,ran away after the arrest of two women charged with human trafficking.Mrs Grace Onye,one of the women involved in the child trafficking confessed that the hotel manager who is on the run was also aware of the illegal act.she said she was introduced to Abiodun by Samuel who brought a stolen two year old baby to her in the night and collected N300,000.the son of the owner of the hotel Sadiq said Abiodun fled when he learnt that detectives from the SCID,Panti ,Yaba,Lagos visited the hotel to interrogate him over the matter.the detectives have intensified efforts to recover all the stolen babies allegedlly bought by Onye and sold to unidentified clients.
