 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion.                                             She served as the president of the Women's Political Council in Montgomery.More than 18 months before the arrest of Rosa Parks,Robinson wrote to Montgomery's Mayor as Women Political Council president,threatening a black boycott of city buses if abuses were not curtailed.Following Rosa Parks arrest in December 1955,Robinson played a central role in the start of the protest by producing the leaflets that spread word of the boycott among the black citizens of Montgomery.View the flier below.                                       The arrest of Rosa Parks December 1 1955                                                                                                          Black citizens in Montgomery begin a one day bus boycott to protest the arrest of Rosa Parks.Black community leaders,impressed with the boycott's success,decided to lengthen the boycott and press for summary elimiation of segregation in the city bus system.The Montgomery Improvement Association {MIA} is formed to coordinate the boycott,and Martin Luther King jr of Dexter Avenue Baptist church is elected president connection with the boycott,king delivers his first civil rights speech at the Holt street Baptist church in Montgomery.
