GABON'S LEADER NGUEMA ELECTED PRESIDENT WITH 90.35% OF VOTE, INTERIOR MINISTER SAYS
Gabon's leader Nguema elected president with 90.35% of vote, interior minister says Brice Oligui Nguema, who led a coup in Gabon in August 2023, won Saturday's presidential election with 90.35% of votes cast, according to provisional results, the Central African country's interior minister said on Sunday, Reuters reported. The result cements Nguema's grip on power 19 months after the coup ended more than half a century of rule by the Bongo family in Gabon, an oil producer with a population of around 2.5 million. Nguema's most prominent opponent in the eight-candidate race was Alain Claude Bilie By Nze, who was serving as prime minister under President Ali Bongo at the time of the coup. Nze, 57, finished with 3.02% of the total, according to the provisional results announced. My correspondent in Awka Anambra state Ikay Ogbonna,met with Lady Angela Ogbonna who got healed at Nachi miracle pool.She was disabled since 2011 and was using crutches to aid her movement.She crawled into Nachi pool and stood up for the first time since 2011.The river with healing powers was reportedly misteriously appeared in Nachi,a community in Udi local Government Area of Enugu state.It all started on the 11th day of November 2013 when a Fulani herds man ran to the community and announced how water covered the place just few minutes after he passed with his cattles and soon after he heard a strange noise before he discovered the water.He ran to Garki and informed his relatives,who also came there and discovered that the water had healing power.Though one Rev Fr Chikezie Cyprill a.k.a Okanga is claiming that the water had been their that the Fulani men are only mis informing people.He said the Nachi people have been trying to encroach on the land that the land originally belongs to the people of Umuaga.He claimed he was the one who cleared the way to the river,that he planted palm tree,orange among others.He says his house is there and the water has been there.He said ''Through out the period i stayed in the farmland,we have never heared about the story of healing power being ascribed to the water.Now some one is healed from that water,now who is telling the truth?,or is the Rev Fr only protecting his land?
