 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. File photo: another man accused of Raping his two daughters         The Nigerian police in Lagos state said it has arrested a 36 year old man who allegedly raped and impregnated his 14 year old daughter.The police public Relations officer in the state,DSP Ngozi Braide,made this known when she addressed the media in Ikeja on Friday.She said the girl had been pregnant for the past two months and that the man claimed to be bewitched.She added that the mother of the girl divorced her father seven years ago.The matter was reported at Meiran police station of the area M police command.The victim told newsmen that her father brought a native doctor who convinced her that sex was part of the treatment to cure her undisclosed sickeness before she was raped.She said '' my father gives me native soap and sponge probably for ritual bath always.He once entered the bathroom with me and had sex with me forcefully.He took me to bed forcefully several times in his room and when i refused,he threatened to kill me with a knife,since then,he had been making love to me under the guise that i will be cured''.This story is very touching.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
