 PRESS RELEASE:  ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR ABDUCTION AND DEFILEMENT OF A 14-YEAR-OLD The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the public of a recent arrest concerning a case of abduction and defilement. On April 2, 2025, at approximately 3:20 am, operatives of the C4I Strike Force, while on a routine patrol along the Casablanca Axis, GRA Phase-2, Port Harcourt, apprehended one Emmanuel Godwin (male, 23 years old) of 25 Chinda Street, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. The suspect was found in the company of a minor, name withheld (female, 14 years old), of 11 Nwogu Martins Street, Chinda, Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to abducting the minor and detaining her in a room where three other individuals also engaged in unlawful acts with her for over a week. ADEBAMBO,COMMITS SUICIDE,WHILE 2 CHILDREN WERE BURNT TO DEATH.

        Two children were burnt to death last night when a candle light razed their parents home at 12,Adebari street,Agege,Lagos state,south west Nigeria,just as Adebambo a graduate took his on life in Ikorodu on New Year day because he claimed he was not allowed to marry his girlfriend.The deceased kids were identified as Nosirat 7,a primary one pupil of starland private school,Agege,while Basit 5,was in nusrsery one of the same school.The mother of the children said ''i am a trader selling kerosine and bread outside and after i had closed for the day i kept  a 25 litre of Kerosine inside while i lit a candle and place it on the freezer,since there was no electricity supply.My children and their father were sleeping and i then went to buy mosquito coil but before i returned the house was on fire.I saw my husband outside without the children and by then there was  no way for me to go inside to rescue them''.One of the landlord's children Ganiyu Ayoola 38 years,a driver,who witnessed the incident said '' i managed to run out with my wife and two children with only pant.The burnt house is owned by Alhaji Isiaka Ayoola 72,who resides at 5,Agura road,Enu-Gada,Abeokuta,Ogun state.                                                                                                                        •House where two kids were burnt to death on New Year Day A crowd at the scene of the tragedy

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
