 Death toll from Kenyan floods rises to 62, police say A total of 62 people including eight ​children have died since heavy rains ‌and flooding hit Kenya's capital Nairobi and other areas ​late last week, police ​said, Reuters reported. The capital ⁠was the worst hit ​with 33 deaths, the force ​said in a statement on X that updated the official tally ​of casualties. More than ​2,000 families have been displaced across ‌Kenya ⁠and intense rain was continuing in several regions, it added. Aid workers started pulling ​bodies ​from floodwaters ⁠across Nairobi last Saturday after overnight ​flash floods swept away ​dozens ⁠of cars and disrupted flights at East Africa's ⁠biggest ​airport. A tally issued ​last Sunday put the death toll ​at 42.

the arms seized from the bomb maker           The Nigeria joint task force,JTF,fighting terrorists in northern part of the country said it has apprehended a Boko haram chieftain,who doubles as the group's bomb maker in Kazaure,Jigawa state,Captain Ikedichi Iweha,spokesman of 3 Brigade,Nigeria army,head quartersin Kano,said six people were rescued during a dawn raid that led to the arrest of the yet to be identified terrorist.Those rescued were three women and three toddlers,suspected to be family members of the man who intelligence gathering revealed has been in the business of aiding and abating terrorist activities in the north.Item recovered during the raid that resulted into a gun duel include five AK 47 rifles,five magazines,and 333 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition and various improvised explosive devices.One more picture below.
