 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. CARMEN ZAPATA,SISTERS ACT STAR,DIES AT 86YEARS.

A class act: Carmen played a Choir Nun in the 1992 movie Sister Act and the 1993 sequel Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit         She appeared alongside Whoopi Goldberg in both Sisters Act and Sisters Act 2.She passed away at her home in Van Nuys on Sunday.Her organization-Bilingual foundation of the Arts also revealed that Carmen had been dealing with an illness and a heart condition for sometime.She had acted in Death in Granada with Andy Grarcia,The Bold Ones,Married With Children,Falcon Crest,LA Law and Dr Quinn,and Medicine Woman etc.She was a New Yorker native,with a Mexican father and Argentine mother.She received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame in 2003,and was Knighted by King Juan Carlos of Spain in 1990.Carmen made her Broadway debut in 1946.She also performed in musicals such as guys,Dolls and Carnivals.She was a leading force in show casing Latino culture in Los Angeless.More pictures below.                                 Heyday: Actress Carmen Zapata - seen here in Hands of Love in 1971 - died at the age of 86 on Sunday at her home in Van NuysLegend: Carmen receives her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles in October 2003
