 Senate Approves Death Penalty For Drug Traffickers The Senate has approved the death penalty for those convicted on the charge of drug trafficking in the country. The punishment prescribed in the extant NDLEA Act is a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The resolution of the Senate followed its consideration of a report of the Committees on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters and Drugs and Narcotics, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024. The Chairman of the Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights & Legal Matters presented the report during plenary, Sen.Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno North). The bill, which passed its third reading, aims to update the list of dangerous drugs, strengthen the operations of the NDLEA, review penalties, and empower the establishment of laboratories. DO AWKA {SOUTH} PEOPLE IN ANAMBRA STATE WORSHIP MONKEYS ?

                                                                 Awka na aso enwe,meaning Awka forbids or don't eat monkey.It has been a story i have been hearing for a long time now that Awka people,that is to say the capital of Anambra state,forbids eating of monkeys.I confirmed my story from Mr Austin Dibor,from Awka Abnambra and he clearified these issue,for the sake of younger generation that don't understand the mistery behind the monkey story in Awka,Anambra state.Mr Austine Dibor argued that Awka people in Anambra state,do not worship monkeys,similarly,christians do not worship the stones that a cathedral is built with,but if you try breaking one stone out of a cathedral,they will go to confession for what they will do to you.He said almost every Awka person is a strong christian,christ said he didn't come to destroy the law.The respect we have for life in Awka is extended to all creatures of God and we are not to kill or eat any monkey because,there is a legend that many years ago,when invaders came to Awka,the monkeys were making loud noises which alerted our people and they took up arms and defeated the attackers since that time,monkeys are a protected spicies in Awka.The only place they have now is the Imo Awka forest and some people are now encroaching into it first by claiming they are doing Gods work by destroying the principle behind Imo Awka and we say Kabudo rejectamente.                 Mr Austin Dibor.

He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
