 Anambra Government Reaffirms Mega City Drive, Demolishes Scores of Illegal Structures By Ruth Orji  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the ongoing regeneration drive and restoration of sanity across the state through enforcement exercises and demolition of illegal structures statewide. The exercise was led by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, on July 8, in line with the Physical Planning Law of Anambra State. Stating that it is no longer business as usual, the commissioner urged residents to take every notice received from the ministry seriously and comply promptly with planning regulations henceforth. He, however, said several eviction notices had been served but were taken with a pinch of salt, adding that demolitions followed because structures defaced the environment or obstructed pedestrian walkways. a flooded street after a rain                                     This picture above is a flooded street in Abuja,after a heavy rainfall,in which a meteorological Agency {NIMET} said on saturday that the rain which fell on friday evening in the FCT and it's environmnt was not the beginning of rainny season.They explained that ''The sudden weather change occured over Abuja around 4pm is due to  rapid northward movement of the line of demarcation between the south westerly winds.The winds brought moisture from the Atlantic ocean and the dry north eastely wins from the Sahara Desert''.They further explained that this type of weather occasionally occurs in January when the atmosphere becomes unstable and there is enough moisture in the atmosphere.
