 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT VS PURE WATER PRODUCERS.

          Today Wednesday,the Anambra state House of Assembly has said it will call for the closure of sachet and table water companies in the state.The chairman of the House committee on Health,Dr.Emeka Aniebonam,said this in Awka today wednesday after an inspection of some sachet {pure}water processing plants in the state by his committee.He also said the discovery made by the committe was alarming when members of the committee visited operated under an unhygienic conditions,alleging the plants were producing unhygienic water for the public.The House committee said it would do a proper report and recommendation to the government after it would have completed a comprehensive inspection of the water plants in the state.To be honest,we should have it at the back of your mind,health is wealth not the other way round where sale is wealth.If you sell bad water to the public,remember you also have family members who may mistakenly drink the dirty water because of your greed so be wise and do the right thing.
