 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. OBASANJO WELCOMED BY GOV.AMAECHI IN PORT-HARCOURT.

                                           Once a president is always a president.One will think Obasanjo is still the current president of Nigeria but non the less,he is an ex.He was welcomed by Governor Amaechi,senators and members of the state executive council.Members of various communities where Obasanjo would commission projects line up the routes of the convoy,causing very heavy traffic.There was tight security as armed forces personnel and police were deployed all over.He first commissioned Chief G.U Ake road{Airforce link road}.Other projects to be commissioned include,Songhai Integrated farm at Bunu-Tai,Ogoni land,Afam power station in Afam,Buguma fish farm and about 300 primary and secondary school and health centres.Amaechi's administration had rejected the idea of commissioning projects,but has been forced to reverse that policy because he said the opposition has accused him of non performance.Obansanjo was invited to commission the projects because during the Port-Harcourt centenary celebration,president Goodluck Jonathan was invited but he didn't show up.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
