 PRESS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL UNITY AND FAIR REPRESENTATION IN APPOINTMENTS The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) wishes to address recent insinuations circulating, particularly on social media, regarding the composition of Federal appointments. The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). OBASANJO WELCOMED BY GOV.AMAECHI IN PORT-HARCOURT.

                                           Once a president is always a president.One will think Obasanjo is still the current president of Nigeria but non the less,he is an ex.He was welcomed by Governor Amaechi,senators and members of the state executive council.Members of various communities where Obasanjo would commission projects line up the routes of the convoy,causing very heavy traffic.There was tight security as armed forces personnel and police were deployed all over.He first commissioned Chief G.U Ake road{Airforce link road}.Other projects to be commissioned include,Songhai Integrated farm at Bunu-Tai,Ogoni land,Afam power station in Afam,Buguma fish farm and about 300 primary and secondary school and health centres.Amaechi's administration had rejected the idea of commissioning projects,but has been forced to reverse that policy because he said the opposition has accused him of non performance.Obansanjo was invited to commission the projects because during the Port-Harcourt centenary celebration,president Goodluck Jonathan was invited but he didn't show up.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
