 RE: VIRAL VIDEO OF WOMAN ASSAULTED BY SUSPECTED THUG NEAR ORIENTAL HOTEL The Lagos State Police Command is aware of a viral video circulating on social media, depicting the assault of one Yetunde Amole by a suspected thug near the Oriental Hotel area in Lagos. The Command condemns this act in the strongest terms and wishes to update the public on the actions already taken. The incident occurred on April 7, 2025, at about 1400hrs, when the suspect, identified as Friday Onu, was caught attempting to steal Amole’s car battery. Amole, courageously intervened to prevent the theft, resulting in the suspect assaulting her. Following a prompt response by officers of Maroko Division, Friday Onu was arrested shortly after the incident and detained at the division. Preparations for his arraignment were underway when he suddenly took ill. He was immediately transferred to Falomo Police Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under close supervision. PASTOR SENTENCED TO DEATH TODAY BY JUSTICE OKUNU.

Arowolo in tears at the court after he was sentenced to death            Today friday at the Ikeja High court,Justice Lateefat Okunu,sentenced Pastor Akolade Arowolo to death over the death of his wife Titilayo Omozejethat worked with Skye bank on the 24th June 2011.He is a youth Pastor at the Redeemed Christian church of God Gbagada parish,Lagos and he has been on trail in the court since 2012.It was held that he actually murdered his wife in their marimonial home by stabbing her to death,and solely on a forensic report.Immediately after the judgement,Arowolo fell down in the dock and started shouting ''Jesus have mercy''.So touching.                                                                                          Arowolo being taken to Kirikiri Prison.  Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
