 PRESS RELEASE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATION FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL UNITY AND FAIR REPRESENTATION IN APPOINTMENTS The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) wishes to address recent insinuations circulating, particularly on social media, regarding the composition of Federal appointments. The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). TODAY AT THE YORUBA CONSTITUTIONAL CONFERENCE.

                   Yoruba leaders today warned potentia yoruba delegates that will represent them at the National conference,that during the conference,they should not betray the cause of the race and threatening that if that should happen,the consequence would be grievous.This was reached at the Yoruba constitutional conference held at House of Chiefs house.secretariat,Ibadan.Wale Oshun,the chairman of Afenifere Renewal Group {ARG},warned president Goodluck Jonathan to expunge the idea of no go area in the agenda of the conference.He described the event as a stepping stone to the proposed National conference,stressing that ''our expectation today,is that our joint deliberations will guide and lead us in determining and redefining our stance about the proposed National conference''.The various groups and individuals that spoke at the event all said that those to be sent should not just be anybody,but those that are sound and mentally alert,sincere and genuine Yoruba sons and daughters.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
