 FRSC, Anambra Govt Strengthen Partnership on Grassroots Road Safety Awareness By Chisom Okpala The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Anambra State Government have renewed their commitment to strengthening grassroots road safety awareness and reducing road traffic crashes across the state. The commitment was made when the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Anambra, Corps Commander Bridget Asakhauno, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Barr. Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka, in his office on Aug. 26. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in promoting community based road safety initiatives through local government authorities and grassroots communities. Discussions focused on intensifying public enlightenment on safe driving practices, compliance with traffic regulations, responsible road use and pedestrian safety. 10 NIGERIANS AND 2 BRITONS ARRESTED FOR OIL THEFT.

             They were arrested today friday on charges of trying to bribe a military officer to facilitate oil theft.Major General E.J Atewe,commander of the mixed military and police task force {JTF} for the oil producing Niger Delta Region,said two of the bunkerers,both Nigerian,had gone to an officer to request clearance to move the crude oil.They had openly admitted their plan was to hack into a pipeline and connect a hose that would siphon crude out of it into a waiting boat,and offered him $6,500 to provide a gun boay to protect them on ther way out.The suspects were immediately arrested for attempting to bribe the Brigade Commander for economic sabotage.General Atewe said ''A follow up operation had led to the arrest of two Britons and another eight Nigerians''.
