 Again, Gov Diri Tasks Traditional Rulers To Maintain Peace, Security At King Awala's Coronation  Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has again urged traditional rulers to remain focused on the maintenance of peace, security and stability in their various domains as part of their contribution towards the development of the state. Governor Diri made the call at the weekend during the coronation ceremony ofHis Royal Majesty King Victor Awala, Ebeni-Ibe the Eighth (VIII) of Atissa Kingdom in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, Yenagoa, the state capital. Represented by his deputy, Dr Peter Akpe, the Bayelsa Chief Executive acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in society as the custodians of culture and tradition, stressing that his administration will continue to hold them in high esteem. ALI MODU SHERIFF THREATENS TO SLAP BOLA TINUBU.

APC-LEADERS-MEETING-620x330            According to a National News paper,these past Monday,Ali Modu Sheriff threatened to slap Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the recently held National executive committee meeting of the party,it was said thar Mr sheriffexploded midway on Mr Tinubu and threatened to slap him but for the intervention of some party leaders and former vice president,Atiku Abubakar,the threat would have come to past.Sheriff and Tinubu clashed when the meeting began discussing on the congresses and convension.It was gathered that during the discussion the APC National chairman,Bisi Akande,who was presiding over the meeting nominated himself and the National Secretary,Tijanni Tumsah to serve as chairman and secretary respectively of the National convention committee,Ncc,which would also over see the conduct of the congress.Angered by the suggestion,Sherif grabbed the microphone and expressed his opposition to the choices.He was said to have made some remarks which suggested that he,he believed that APC was not yet mature as a party.He was cautioned by Mr Tinubu who asked him not to speak about the party in a negative manner.He also asked Sheriff to quit the APC and go else where,if he was not comfortable with the party.Mr Sherif who was now holding firmly to the microphone,allegedly began to insult Mr Tinubu,asking him if he owned the party.''Who are you? who do you think you are?Are you the owner of the party?.Na waho for our future leaders.
