Pike, 50, woke up on Tuesday, October 6, but remains in critical condition after being injected with two doses of the lethal drug pentobarbital. The Tennessee inmate’s legal team confirmed she was awake and able to speak after spending nearly a week unconscious. Pike is still in critical condition and remains handcuffed to her hospital bed despite suffering from severe damage to her arms after she was struck with at least seven needles during her failed execution, her attorneys said. As adapted from an international article.Medical experts have called for a permanent ban on selling cigarrattes to anyone born in this century in a bid to eradicate smoking from Britain entirely.The radical plan would see the age limit for buying tobacco.Currently set at 18 rise every year until the last cigarette smokers died out,at which point smoking would be illegal for everyone.Doctors have asked the powerful British medical Association to lobby the Government for a ban on tobacco sales to people born after the year 2000.Smoking causes diseases such as lung cancer and emphesyma.
