 UK approves sweeping law to ban cigarette sales for future generations  The United Kingdom has taken a major step toward eliminating smoking among future generations after lawmakers approved sweeping legislation that bans the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 2009. The measure, one of the most aggressive anti-tobacco efforts globally, ensures that today’s children will never be legally sold cigarettes. It also outlaws the sale and supply of herbal smoking products and cigarette papers to the same age group, while introducing a nationwide ban on snus, an oral tobacco product. The law establishes strict enforcement measures, including fines for retailers who fail to verify ages and harsher penalties for repeat violations, with courts given the authority to suspend businesses from selling tobacco or vaping products for up to a year. Golda Humphrey                                                            A grandmother has been left with a disfigured nose after doctor failed to notice she had a tumour,the size of turnip growing on her nose.she has a hole in the centre of her face after a series of life saving operations to move a cancerous growth from the end of her nose.The problem developed when she was in hospital and over nearly five months a scab repeatedly formed on tip of her nose before falling off.Doctors initially dismissed the growth as a reaction to the medication she was given after breaking her leg.Each time it came back the sore got bigger and nurses jokingly nicknamed her Pinocchio.Mrs Humphrey.a retired bus conductor said ''I understand they butchered my face to save my life,and i'm very grateful.During the time the tumour was growing on my face,i saw dozens of doctors and nurses many of whom commented about it but did not even bother doing any tests.When i was finally diagnosed with skin cancer,it was too late.The tumour was so big it had spread to my lip and i had to have two operations to remove it.More pictures below.                 Golda HumphreyGolda Humphrey                                          Mrs Humphrey (pictured with her daughter, Golda, and granddaughter, Shannon) now has a large hole in her nose.
