
After the German oriental society was granted the necessary license from the Ottoman Empire,teams commenced excavation work in Uruk in November 1912.It was customary at the time to divide up finds a single site and remove from their country of origin.Alot of things like war delayed so many excavation in the sit.This photo above is taken in Uruk/Warka excavation that took place in 1929-1930 showing the discovery of the statuette of a high priest inside a vessel at the Mesopotamian city of Uruk,which is the modern day Warka in Iraq.One more picture below.
