STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. According to sources at a public presentation of a book,titled ''Giants of History'', written by Lagos state commissioner for information and strategy,Aderemi Ibirogba at the Civic Centre,Lagos,he says ''The video advert comparing some select world leaders like president Barack Obama,the late president Nelson Mandela and former Singaporean president,Lee Kuan Yew with Jonathan,is say to say the least blasphemous.If those people think everything is all right,then it must be two things,it is either they are watching the news on black and white television sets or they are reading the newspaper upside down.It is not the leader who would tell us that he or she is great.We would be the ones to say it and acknowledge it because we wear the shoes and know where it hurts.At the end of the day,when the people are still crying out about their safety and electricity issues,it means that we are not speaking the same language and that we are not responding to the same stimuli''.Please Nigerian's remember when you point someone with one finger,four fingers is pointing back at you.
