  NBC bans Eedris Abdulkareem’s protest song ‘Tell Your Papa’ from radio, TV The National Broadcasting Commission has barred Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song “Tell Your Papa” by veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, citing its “objectionable nature.” In a memo dated April 9, 2025 and issued by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the commission declared the track Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. This section prohibits content deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency from being aired on Nigerian broadcast platforms. According to the NBC, while the song has gained momentum across social media platforms, its lyrical content fails to meet the standards of responsible broadcasting. FEMALE KIDNAPPER,SET ABLAZE AT ABULE EGBA.

Crowd on Ekoro Road, Lagos, where a woman was set ablaze while attempting to kidnap three kids            According to sources,jungle justice was done to a woman today,who was suspected to have kidnapped three children.She was set ablaze by angry mobs at Ekoro road at Abule Egba area of Lagos.The incident occured around at 7.am today.Eye witnesses claimed that the woman allegedly kidnapped three children who were on their way to school in the area,before a bread seller raised the alarm as the suspect tried to escape from the scene.The woman was beaten up before youths in the area hung a tyre on her neck,poured petrol on her and set her ablaze.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
