 13 BRIGADE TROOPS RESCUE 18 PASSENGERS AFTER BOAT HIJACKING Troops of 13 Brigade, Nigerian Army have successfully rescued 18 passengers, including 2 infants, following a hijacking incident on a passenger boat traveling from Nigeria to Cameroon on 11 January 2026. A distress call reported that suspected sea pirates, operating in  two speed boats and a wooden boat, hijacked a passenger boat moving  from Nigeria to Cameroon. The passengers were kidnapped along Kombo Fishing Port within Cameroon waterways. Responding swiftly, 13 Brigade troops deployed at Ikang pursued the criminals, resulting in an exchange of fire that caused one of the pirates’ speed boats to capsize. The pirates abandoned their victims and fled into the surrounding creeks. All passengers were rescued unharmed. 10 PEOPLE DEAD IN FRESH ATTACK,NEAR CHIBOK.

               According to sources,suspected Islamist militants killed at least 10 people on sunday in an attack o a village less tha 5km {3 miles }from Chibok.A witness named Samuel Chibok,a survivor of the attack on Kautikiri village in the Chibok community said around 20 me i a Toyota pick up truck and motorcycles rolled into town.''Initially i thought they were military but when i came out,they were firing at people.I saw people fleeing and they burned our house''.A local vigilante said residents had so far recovered 10 bodies from the village.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
