 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. To ease parking challenges, designated car parks have been arranged for public use, these include; the Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club Car Park, Zone 2 Car Park (opposite Island Club along King George V Road), Museum Kit...

A FAKE GORILLA,SHOT BY A VET WITH A TRANQUILISER IN A ZOO.

The vet fired the shot - designed for a 400lb gorilla - at the man and hit him in the leg (file photo)                                                        According to sources,a vet shot a tranquilizer dart at a zoo employee dressed as a gorilla after mistaking him for a primate.The 35year old zoo employee was shot on monday at Loro Parque zoo on the Spanish island of Tenerite.Staff at the zoo were taking part in a drill designed to ensure they had an emergency plan in place incase one of the gorillas escaped it's enclosure.The Vet had not been informed of the training exercise and fearing that there was a gorilla on the loose he sprang into action.The Vet fired the shot designed for a 400ib gorilla at a man and hit him in the leg.When the man was located he was in his underwear.He was taken to the university Hospital of the Canary Island.More photos below.                                Zoos around the world carry out animal escape drills - and often they use a human dressed in a gorilla suit as seen here in a Tokyo zoo in 2007In 2009 Loro Parque hit the headlines when Alexis Martinez Hernandez, 29, a wildlife trainer, died after falling from a whale and crushing his rib cageA vet accidentally shot a tranquiliser dart at a zoo employee dressed as a gorilla after mistaking him for the primate.  Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
