 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. BOKO HARAM FREED 2 PRIEST & A NUN IN CAMEROON.

                   According to sources two Italian priests and a Canadian nun,kidnapped in northern Cameroon nearly two months ago by suspected Boko Haram gunmen were released today sunday,smiling and apparently in good health as they arrived in the capital.Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allegri,missionaries from the Diocese of Vicenza in northeast Italy,and Canadian Gilberte Bissiere were seized against their will on the night of April 4 from the parish of Maroua,close to the the border with Nigeria.There has been no claim of responsibility for their kidnapping but Cameroon officials have pointed the finger at the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.The captives were seen arriving at Yaounde airport today sunday in the company of heavily armed Cameroon special forces.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
