 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. BOKO HARAM FREED 2 PRIEST & A NUN IN CAMEROON.

                   According to sources two Italian priests and a Canadian nun,kidnapped in northern Cameroon nearly two months ago by suspected Boko Haram gunmen were released today sunday,smiling and apparently in good health as they arrived in the capital.Giampaolo Marta and Gianantonio Allegri,missionaries from the Diocese of Vicenza in northeast Italy,and Canadian Gilberte Bissiere were seized against their will on the night of April 4 from the parish of Maroua,close to the the border with Nigeria.There has been no claim of responsibility for their kidnapping but Cameroon officials have pointed the finger at the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram.The captives were seen arriving at Yaounde airport today sunday in the company of heavily armed Cameroon special forces.
