 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. SUSPECTED ISLAMIST MALI JAIL BREAK FUGITIVE,MAHAMED ARRESTED .

            Officials disclosed that Mali security forces have arrested Mahamed Aly Ag Wadoussene,a fugitive at the heart of a jail break in Mali's capital on June 16,in which at least two people were killed and 22 prisoners escaped.Ag Wadoussene who shot his way out of prison,was being held for his alleged role in the 2011 kidnapping of two French citizens who ended up in the hand of Al Qaeda's in North Africa.Army spokesman Major Modibo Traore,confirmed the arrest and saying ''Mahamed Aly Ag Wadoussene was arrested in Bamako.We knew he was going to try and contact his girlfriend,who lives with a family in Bamako''.Ag Wadoussene was arrested on tuesday night at Hamdalaye neigborhood in the Malian capital.

  1. is the picture in this story the prison? i mean cos a dude does not have to shoot his way out, pushing down the wall will be less messy and what a dumb move on the part of the escapee. didn't he learn a thing from watching #PrisonBreak ?
