 Republic of Congo holds presidential election, internet disruption reported Internet connectivity across the Republic of Congo was disrupted on Sunday as voters cast ballots in a presidential election, global internet watchdog NetBlocks said. Network data indicated a nation-scale disruption to internet access, the watchdog said on X. A similar near-total nationwide internet blackout was recorded during the country’s March 2021 presidential election, lasting about three days, according to NetBlocks. Polls opened at 6 am (0500GMT) in the country’s presidential election and will remain open until 6 pm (1700GMT). More than 2.6 million registered voters aged 18 and above are eligible to cast their ballots. 116 PEOPLE FLYING AIR ALGERIE FROM BURKINA FASO,MAY HAVE CRASHED.

REUTERS/Xavier Larrosa           According to Algeria ASP state news and a Spanish Airline company Swiftair said today thursday that authorities have lost contact with an Air Algeria flight en route from Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso to Algerie with 116 passengers on board.Flight AH 5017 lost contact after it took off and there is now confusion about the fate of the flight and where it might be.The company Swiftair posted on it's website that the aircraft took off from Burkina Faso at 0117 GMT {2117ET} and was supposed to land in Algerie at 0510 GMT but never reached it's destination.The rate at which planes are disappearing and crashing is becoming alarming.
