SANWO-OLU INSPECTS VANDALISED BRIDGE POLE ALONG LAGOS-BADAGRY EXPRESSWAY •Governor reassures residents about bridge safety The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, carried out an on-the-spot assessment of a vandalised bridge pole at Vin-Niger, along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area. He assured Lagos residents that the structural integrity of the bridge had not been compromised, emphasising that the bridge and the work carried out on it remained safe. The Governor, however, disclosed that some fittings used to secure the bridge had been excavated and taken away by vandals. Governor Sanwo-Olu warned that the Lagos State Government would hunt down those responsible for the act, including those involved in buying and selling stolen public infrastructure materials. According to Director of Defence Information,Col.Onyema Nwanchukwu,after a woman named Hafsat Usman Bako was arrested earlier inconnection with the Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram,two more women were also arrested yesterday.They were intercepted on their way to the Sambisa forest.The two women are named Zainab Idris and Aisha Abubakar.It was discovered that the two suspects were travelling to Madafali from where they were to transt to the forest to re unite with their cohorts.Investigations revealed that the suspects led by Hafsat Bako,have the mission to recruit members into the female wing as conduct espionage for the Boko Haram group.The suspects lures ladies,especially widows and young girls by enticing them with male suitors who are mainly members of Boko Haram for marriage.Before their arrest,they were on a mission to take additional briefing from the leadership of the terror group.
