STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. The Nigerian police in Ondo state,has drawn the attention of the general public to the publication of the sunday Vanguard,page 8 of 20th July,2014,captioned ''Police officer dies in sex romp''.The police command said the entire story is false,baseless,unfounded,ill-motivated and complete imagination of the writer.The police Command said it was an Inspector of police who reported sick by himself at the station at llutitin and conveyed i a patrol vehicle to hospital and not in a woman's house as alleged,but died on the way to hospital which could happen to anybody including the writer.It was an Inspector that died and not an Assistant Superintendent of police.No woman was arrested in connection with the dead of any police officer in llutitun.This shows that the writer did not conduct proper investigation but based his story on figment of his imagination.ASP.Wole .F.Ogodo,Police Public Relations Officer,Ondo state.
