 FG Reaffirms Commitment To Operationalize Sokoto Hajj Airport Ahead Of 2026 Pilgrimage The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development announced that the Sokoto State Hajj Airport is set to become operational ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. The Minister of Aviation and Eerospace Festus Keyamo reaffirmed this commitment during a meeting with Sokoto State Governor Dr. Ahmed Aliyu. Keyamo highlighted Sokoto's importance for Hajj operations and assured that relevant agencies are working to meet necessary infrastructure and operational requirements. He directed officials to identify and address potential bottlenecks. Governor Aliyu says the airport project is 90% completed and funded by the state government with five aircraft being acquired. He appealed for expedited approvals to operationalize the airport for the 2026 Hajj. The Ministry remains committed to enhancing aviation infrastructure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. One more photo below...

200 PASSENGERS ON A TRAIN FALLS OFF SWISS MOUNTAIN TODAY.

The scene: Parts of the train were left hanging over the steep ravine after the landslide.         A land slide triggered by heavy rain caused two trains to derail from it's track,leaving passengers trapped in carriages as they feared the worst.Several travelers on the Rhaetische Bahntrain from Chur to St.Moritz were injured and helicoptered to local hospitals as rescue workers struggled to reach those trapped in the car dangling in mid air.200 passengers were on board the train at the time of the accident and air rescue service was helping the recovery effort at the site,which wasn't close to a road.The police said ''There was a derailment just before 1p.m today,close to the mountain village of Tiefen Castel.The train made an emergency stop because of a landslide,sending at least two of the carriages over the edge''.Contradicting the police explanation,photographs appeared to show that the train had in fact been hit by the land slide and pushed off the tracks.More photos below.                                                                                                                        Difficult terrain: Rescuers were said to be finding it difficult to reach the accident sceneRescue services airlift a victim away from the sceneA picture posted on Twitter showing the crash Railway horror: The aftermath of the rail accident, which after the train made an emergency stop to avoid a landslide close to the mountain village ot Tiefencastel, according to a spokesman for the local policeRescue services tend to a victim of the passenger train accident
