  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. A HOMOSEXUAL,STABS HIS FACEBOOK SEX PARTNER TO DEATH IN LAGOS.

                 A homosexual allegedly murdered his sex partner he met on facebook in a hotel room in Lagos.24 year old Michael Okorocha and the manager of the hotel situated at Oke Afa area of Lagos,was arrested over the murder of the 20 year old Okere Chinedu John.Michael Okorocha,allegedlly used a jack knife and sliced John's throat in the hotel room and he bled to death.Okorocha who resides at Mafon area of Ogun state,allegedly lured John who resides in Lekki Ajah area to the hotel to have sex with him.While they were inside the room,John resisted Okoracha's attempt to have sex with him and in anger Okorocha used a knife and sliced John's throat.After the incident,Okorocha reportedly lied to the hotel staff on duty that he wanted to buy something outside the hotel and he escaped.The police have charged Okorocha before Ebute Metta magistrate court with murder.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
