 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNOR ASSURES IT'S CITIZENS OF NO EBOLA IN THE STATE.

                  On friday in Awka Anambra state,Governor Obiano made the clarification at the 2014 mothers summit and the inauguration of Caring family enhancement initiative of Anambra First Lady,Mrs Ebele Obiano.Obiano's statement came against the background of reported case of the return of the remains of an Ebola victim from Liberia to Anambra state.He said ''There is no Ebola case in Anambra state and by the grace of God there will never be.The rumour we have concerns one corpse that was brought from one of the West African countries.On our own we decided to take precaution.We were doing the proper thing to confirm that the corpse has nothing to do with Ebola.As we speak from preliminary reports.We have so far,there is no Ebola incident in Anambra state.I have told the police not to allow any corpse to be brought into Anambra by road or by air if that corpse does not have certificate confirming the cause of death.Wherever we see a corpse,we stop and find out what killed him/her before going further.It is only a precautionary measure as a responsible government to protect our people''.
