 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler.
